Kupang beautifies your home with its clean lines and high-quality natural material, rattan. It is particularly suitable as a decorative laundry basket or storage for other textiles such as cushions or blankets, as these are excellently ventilated by the open structure of the basket. The material is so robust that even heavy firewood can be stored and transported in this basket. Kupang also looks fantastic as a striking decorative element thanks to the beautiful light colouring of the rattan.
The basket is available in no less than three sizes, one of which is quite low and wide and two high and narrow. This means there is a basket for every taste and purpose.
Please note: the sizes are sorted by base area, i.e. sizes S and M are tall and narrow, L is low and wide.

Materials: rattan
Our baskets are made from plant fibres. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.
Rattan palms usually grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and extracting many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow quickly without chemical additives, must be cut regularly and can be used as a material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and readily available material.

This basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
In selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. As all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
