Dalu is a classic banana fibre basket with beautiful cotton appliqués in a traditional two-tone zigzag pattern. It is the perfect storage option for laundry, duvets, wood and anything else you need to store.
Dalu is available in three different sizes. With its natural, simple materials in warm tones, it is guaranteed to create a comfortable feeling in your home.

Main material: banana fibres
Our baskets are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.
Banana fibers are the fibers from the layered stems of agriculturally used banana trees. The intense brown color develops naturally when the fibers are dried in the sun for about a week. The individual strips are then rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This gives these crops a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handmade baskets here at Soeji.

This basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced craftsmen. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Since all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
