For Maku, natural rattan is formed into a beautiful round shape using heat and then tied together with thinner rattan fibers. The classic design fits into almost any living environment and enhances it with its natural flair.

Our coat racks are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.
Rattan palms usually grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and extracting many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow quickly without chemical additives, must be cut regularly and can be used as a material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable material that is abundantly available.

When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans.
